The Magpies backed up their round one belting of Barellan with a hard-fought victory over the much-improved Jets, 15.10 (100) to 6.7 (43).
TRYC got off to a good start, but then were matched by the Jets for the middle two quarters.
The Magpies kicked away in the last quarter to stretch the margin.
Mitch Ward was the star with seven goals, while Dylan Hore, Josh Meiselbach, Kieran Fair and Todd Hannam all played important parts in the win.
TRYC captain-coach David Pieper said the win was not as easy as the scoreboard may indicate.
“It was pretty close all day,” Pieper said.
“We had a four or five goal lead all day but there wasn’t too much in it.
“The score wasn’t a good indicator, it blew out in the end but they’re a good side and will win plenty of games through the year.”
