The Kangaroos continued their dominance over Marrar and it made it nine consecutive victories over the last four seasons, winning easily 14.7 (91) to 6.2 (38).
Temora bounced back hard from their opening round loss and were ferocious in their attack on the footy and running game from the opening bounce.
The wet weather proved no obstacle for Temora early on as they booted six goals to two in the opening term, and produced a brand of footy fitting of a dry day.
Temora kicked another five goals in the second term to set up a match-winning 51-point lead at the main break.
The game developed into a scrap in the second half and an improved intensity from Marrar resulted in no further damage to the scoreboard, but they failed to make any inroads either.
Temora coach Christin Macri could not fault his team’s response to the round one defeat to East Wagga-Kooringal.
“It’s a good response from last week,” Macri said.
“We were disappointing in two key areas last week and we really made an effort to clean them up through the week.
“To the boys credit, they really listened to what was asked of them and played accordingly for the first half.”
Being such an even competition, it was important Temora got back to one win and one loss, as opposed to winless after two rounds.
“Week to week, it’s going to be hard, it’s a really good competition,” Macri said.
“We dropped one at home last week so we were pretty determined not to drop one here again this week and have a win.
“So we go out to the Jets next week, the local derby and have a good go, at least with a win under our belt so it’s pleasing.”
Matt Wallis was good for Temora and finished with five goals, while Damien Ponting, Rob Drummond, Rob Grant and Jason Reid all caused headaches for the Bombers throughout the day.
Mitch Taylor, Daniel Burkinshaw, Matt Molkentin and Josh Hanlon never gave in on a dirty day for Marrar.
