I AM seeking a young charismatic person who lives in Wagga to contest the next federal election as an independent. Wagga is the largest city in the Riverina and will probably be the key to the next election.

In the state electorate of Murray the National sitting member and minister had his primary vote reduced by 23 per cent.
A similar situation, coupled with the experience gained by six of the eight candidates who were gunning for him, could make this a very interesting election.
In Murray there was an old uncharismatic person with attitude standing – me. I spent less than $1000 to gain 3.7 per cent of the vote which also means that my $250 deposit will be returned.
Even if it is me standing, and I loosen the purse strings a bit, I might score 8 per cent this time. Two of the three independents were the only candidates with policies of revenue. Very briefly:
- Open the barrages now for a gain of $105m per year for farmers.
- Fix dollar at 70 cents or other chosen value, at least an additional $50m per year.
- Use countervailing duty as accepted by World Trade Organisation to bring an additional $100m per year for Valencia orange farmers.
By applying a community factor of 3:1 this would bring in an additional $765m per year to the region.
Another policy is that the taxation earned from that should be spent in the regions, to retain or regain police presence and schools in the region.
The NSW Education Minister has closed schools in Murrami and Grong Grong. He plans to close all schools with less than 300 students. He dodged direct confrontation with the three independents and was re-elected. Barnaby Joyce wrote me a letter with 51 points of difference.
My efforts to have the mayor of Griffith and Michael McCormack to bring Barnaby here, or to arrange a phone hook up, resulted in an amazing situation. Both of them will not talk to me.
As an independent candidate for Riverina I will honour their wishes and not talk to them but I reserve the right to talk about these issues.
If a Country Party affiliate stands again and can boost the 18.8 per cent to 25 per cent, if Labor can stir and build 16.6 per cent to 20 per cent and either a charismatic or even an uncharismatic independent can move from 3.7 per cent to 8 per cent it would be all over Red Rover for Michael.
The one factor needed, which did not happen in Murray, is tight preference arrangements.

Let god’s word lead you
TO ALL who attended the Muslim-Christian debate called “Building Bridges” at the Commercial Club on March 25, I want to say with stress – whatever you think or whatever conclusions you draw, do not be led by mere human opinion or reasoning or cleverness but only by the truth and absolute trustworthiness of God’s word, the Bible.
If you ask 10 people what they think, you may get 10 different opinions and you never get anywhere, except frustrated. Therefore, be led by God’s utterly reliable word.
Consider these facts: God’s word consists of 66 books, written by 80 authors, over a period of 1600 years. All authors agree with each other, the writings fit together like a hand in a glove.
All the historical and archaeological records have been verified by historians and archaeologists, irrespective of these being Christians or non-Christians or anti-Christians. A total of 590 major prophecies (predictions), of these 570 have been accurately fulfilled.
No human beings could ever achieve all of this; all these facts confirm that God’s word is what it is.
