The grandfather of 10 is a practical joker with a love of rugby league and a history in the emergency services. It was this history that was put into effect in his newest book, Justice for Constable Cook.
Mr Richardson paints a picture of life on the barren outback roads of Australia and the highway’s characters – based loosely on people he has known and the area he grew up in.
Set in the arid landscape of Bourke during the dawn of the 1970s, Justice for Constable Cook looks into the fictious slaying of motorcycle policeman Constable James Cook.
The unsolved murder is investigated by undercover detective Al Carmody and his mate, ex-cop Ian Buchanan, who now prowls the highways driving road trains.
An Interpol taskforce joins the fold when a suspect turns out to be wanted by both groups, taking the book from murder investigation to international thriller.
But several characters are more than they appear.
With a love for writing, Mr Richardson has now moved onto a new book, set in the Riverina.
Justice for Constable Cook is available at The Book Shop at the Marketplace in Wagga, the Henty newsagent, www.bookdepository.com or in ebook form through the publisher at www.rosedogbookstore.com.
