Wagga police duty officer, Inspector Peter Robertson, said eight officers executed a search warrant on a Bristol Street property about 1.20pm.
He said 20 cannabis plants, a quantity of cannabis seeds, two rifles and a large amount of ammunition was found in the search.
Hydroponic equipment to grow the cannabis was also discovered.
No one was at the property when police arrived.
“We believe the occupier may be away at the moment,” Inspector Robertson said.
“We will make further inquiries and follow up with him.”
One of the rifles was a .22 calibre weapon and the other was of heavier calibre, Inspector Robertson said.
The hydroponic equipment was dismantled by police.
