Sirens pierced the usually quiet morning air as police and paramedics rushed to the crash site around 20 kilometres east of Hay.
Police were first called and alerted to a truck rollover at 7.17am, a NSW Police spokeswoman said. No other vehicles appear to be involved in the crash, the police spokeswoman added.
Four paramedics were tasked to the accident, before it being downgraded to two, a NSW Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed.
“The driver is out of the vehile and walking around,” she told The Daily Advertiser.
“(Paramedics are assessing) one male patient with minor injuries.”
The rollover blocked both lanes of the highway, prompting the NSW Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) to warn motorists away from the area.
“Motorists are advised to delay their journey as there is no diversion available at this stage,” she said.
Diversions are now in place, with traffic being filtered around the crash site via alternate highways at Hay.
Eastbound traffic is being diverted via Cobb Highway, Lachlan Street (Cobb Highway), Mid Western Highway, Kidman Way and return to Sturt Highway.
Westbound traffic is being diverted via Carrathool Road, Murrumbidgee River Road, Mid Western Highway, Lachlan Street (Cobb Highway) and return to Sturt Highway.
The diversions are suitable for all vehicles and drivers are advised to allow additional travel time.
