As members of Mr Greenfield’s grief-stricken family consoled each other outside the Griffith court house after his killer was sentenced, Mr Greenfield’s sister Natalie, who travelled from Queensland, spoke on publicly for them.
“On behalf of myself, Dylan (Mr Greenfield’s son) and my family I would like to thank Detective Scott Wilkinson and his team, the Director of Public Prosecutions, Queensland and NSW homicide support groups, the Crown prosecutor, the judge and any community member who was involved in bringing this man to justice,” Miss Greenfield said.
“And a big thank you to Darren’s work colleagues and Graincorp.”
Sentencing judge Justice Peter Johnson said victim impact statements from Mr Greenfield’s family spoke eloquently of his generosity and care shown to them.
