The Charles Sturt University student will be painting the portraits of willing visitors who make the trip to see his Stay exhibition.
“I try to paint people but they change so quickly. The only solution is to paint the change,” Tony said.
“Rather than holding the subjects in a frozen pose, I use their constant flux as a means to access the subject from multiple vantage points in time and space.
“The resulting image is directly influenced by how the subject participates.”
Tony Curran’s Stay will be on display in the Links Gallery exhibition space at Wagga Art Gallery from Saturday, April 4, until Sunday, May 24.
Visitors are invited to reserve a session for their portrait to be created by going to www.tonycurran.net/stay.
