Wagga Country Club won the NSW Country-ACT Pro-Am of the Year at the prestigious 2014 PGA Awards night at Royal Sydney Golf Club on Thursday.
Wagga beat fellow finalists Queanbeyan, Port Macquarie and Morriset to claim the award for a second consecutive year.
Pro-Am chairman Ashley Briggs said the win, voted by players, places the Wagga event as one of the NSW PGA premier Pro-Am events.
PGA tournament co-ordinator Darren Baynes said it was a combination of the professionalism, purse, crowd and community involvement that set the Wagga Pro-Am apart.
“They always make the tournament feel like a Major.”
