WE GOT all our kits together and generally cleaned things up. At 8.30a.m. we marched down the valley towards Rockwall Valley. The review was held in Picadilly Circus. The 2nd Bde was the furtherest down. The Gen. came along about ten. The whole division of 9,000 men presented arms well. He rode through and around each Batt. in their turn. After the parade we had to march past. The 1st Batt. were the leaders and we were already dismissed when the 8th passed. We did nothing all day after that although we were ordered to stand by and not leave the tents. When the orderly Sergeants went up at the last post they were informed that the Gen. considered that the 2nd were the best Batt.
