On display until March 22, don’t miss out on this rare glimpse of the people of Wagga enjoying leisure time through the history of the city. Featuring more than 80 photographs, you’ll remember fondly or imagine vividly, the fun, joy and social change that Wagga has borne witness to throughout its existence.
There have been many instances where people have recognised themselves, or a friend in these photos and we’d love some help identifying some of the subjects. We have set up a visitor’s book for this purpose, but also for you to reflect on the photographs featured in the exhibition and share your own memories of Wagga in leisure time.
find funding
THE Museum of the Riverina’s annual free grant funding workshop Finding Funding 2015, is on Thursday, March 19, from 10am to 3pm. ONE MAN BANNED
DO YOU like to laugh? We do! That’s why on Saturday, March 21, from 7.30pm we are excited to welcome musician and composer Peter J Casey to the Historic Council Chambers to crack us up with his latest Cabaret show, One Man Banned.
Last seen and heard in the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre’s Kids’ season production of The Lizard of Oz for which he composed the music and lyrics, Peter’s humour and wit has seen him leave audiences from Canberra's Street Theatre, to the Famous Spiegeltent in Brisbane, the Butterfly Club in Melbourne and New York's Town Hall, gasping with delight.
Tickets are $20 each, and you’ll have to book fast as seats are limited. Contact the museum on 6926 9655 or email museum@wagga.nsw.gov.au to secure your tickets.
Opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm, Sunday 10am to 2pm. Closed Monday.
