WE PACKED blanket at 7.30am. As we did not go out until 1.45pm we had an easy morning. About 10am orders were issued for full marching order instead of battle order. We had dinner at 12pm, curried stew. The fall in sounded at 1.45 but we did not get away until 3pm. The 2nd Bde formed up on the old site of the 3rd Bde. The artillery also accompanied us. The enemy was situated on a strong position on Tigers Tooth and the attack aided by artillery (2 Bttries) lasted until 7pm. We returned back to Dead Man's Gully about 10.30pm and from there were driven back to Rockwall Valley. It was getting bitterly cold and as I brought a guernsey out in the pack I was only too pleased to put it on. I got into communication with ZA about 12pm.
