I'm beginning to think LG is a little bit sexist.
The South Korean tech giant's display booth at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on Monday was absolutely overflowing as punters sought to get their hands on the three new smartwatches being showcased.
They were the LG Watch Urbane, the SIM-card enabled LG Watch Urbane LTE, and an LG-powered Audi Watch, which can locate, lock and unlock, and start the owner's (Audi) car.
Alas, that is only being rolled out in South Korea for the time being, with no details yet as to its arrival in other markets.
Sadly, as with last year's LG G Watch R, the tech giant is still not catering to the more delicately built among us with its smartwatches.
On either the tightest or second-tightest band setting depending on the model, even the attractive LG Watch Urbane, with its leather strap and thinner bezel than its predecessor, looked positively massive on my wrist and felt like it weighed a tonne.
I asked an LG representative on the booth floor whether there were plans to release more compact versions, and was assured the company was "working on it" — but that was as much detail as I could find.
Rest assured if LG isn't catering to large segments of the population who could very well be in the market for an Android smartwatch, they are going to pick another brand and it might be tricky to entice them away from it again.
Both the LTE and non-LTE models use the Google Now ecosystem to provide notifications from standard apps such as calendar, mail, text and phone. They also work with third-party apps such as WhatsApp, and have a handy "find my phone" feature that sets off your phone's ringtone if you can't find it.
Both watches can be controlled using voice commands, although when I tried to launch the "find my phone" feature on the LG Watch Urbane it couldn't understand me above the MWC fray.
And both, like the LG G Watch R before them, sport 1.3-inch Plastic-OLED displays and 700mAh batteries, which should last two or three days, depending on your level of use.
As far as differences go, it's a matter of aesthetics versus functionality.
The Watch Urbane is a looker, while the LTE version is particularly cumbersome with a stiff plastic band that has an antenna embedded in it.
Despite the less appealing aesthetics, the LG Watch Urbane LTE is the premium model in just about every other way, and will come with a price tag to match — somewhere in the realm of a premium smartphone, we're told.
Google's Android Wear OS is not LTE-enabled, so LG built its own especially — aptly titled "Wearable Platform" — for the premium watch. It has more bells and whistles yet feels sleeker to use.
Curiously, LG has continued to use plain old Android Wear on the non-LTE version.
The advantage of the SIM-enabled watch over the non-SIM-enabled one is that it doesn't need to be near your phone to function with full connectivity.
That means you can duck out without your phone (or wallet) and still be able to do basic tasks like view and reply to messages using voice-to-text, or make NFC payments.
The LG Watch Urbane LTE will also allow you to make 'voice over LTE' (VoLTE) phone calls on the 4G network. Australian carriers have said VoLTE will be ready for consumers sometime this year, and that's the rough timeframe for these smartwatches, too.
As to how it all works, LG says carriers will be selling the Watch Urbane LTE with SIMs already configured to their network. The watch SIM pertains to a different phone number to the one in your phone, so that means you can have someone specifically call or text your watch and not your phone — though god knows why you'd want to do that.
By the time the watch is released there'll be an app in the Google Play store that connects it to your phone, enabling calls and other notifications happening on your phone to pop up on the watch, wherever you are.
Naturally, the LG Watch Urbane LTE has all the sophisticated health-tracking data consumers have come to expect in both smart wristbands and smartwatches.
As well as the requisite step counter and heart rate monitor, it has specialised apps for golfers, cyclists and hikers.
And for those who like to swim — or just play real hard — it is waterproof up to a metre for up to 30 minutes.
It also has an PPG sensor on the inside - a little green laser that looks inside your wrist to measure your blood pressure in real-time — and can monitor your stress levels.
Apple was rumoured to have scrapped such sophisticated features in the Apple Watch, which is due to ship next month, because it couldn't justify the price or guarantee the accuracy of the data they produced.
It sounds like the LG Watch Urbane LTE is going to cost more than the Apple Watch however, so here's hoping its gear is just expensive and not shonky.
Another cool feature unique to the LTE version is push-to-talk, which essentially turns the watch into a walkie-talkie — provided all your buddies are wearing one too and you've all got a clear 4G signal.
They are also compatible with any device running Android 4.3 and above, not just LG phones.
LG has not announced prices, but said the devices would be available sometime this year.
