The committal hearing will determine if any or all of the four men brothers Bevan and Ethan McKellar, Douglas James Dennis and Luke George Elwood stand trial over the stabbing death of 56-year-old John Gjedsted at Ashmont on May 1 last year.
The new evidence was flagged on the first day of the hearing in Wagga Local Court on Thursday by crown prosecutor, Brendan Queenan.
When the hearing resumed yesterday morning, Mr Queenan said a certificate about the evidence should be available from the Department of Health's Division of Analytical Laboratories within two weeks.
The information will then be provided to legal representatives of the accused men.
Bevan McKellar's solicitor, Zac Tankard, yesterday handed up to magistrate Michael Antrum an agreed proposed timetable to continue the hearing once everyone had time to consider the new evidence.
Mr Antrum accepted the timetable and adjourned the matter until October 24 at which time a date to resume the hearing will be decided.
On Thursday, Mr Queenan gave Mr Antrum a six-volume brief of evidence.
Family and friends of the accused were at the hearing on Thursday and yesterday, waving and smiling at the four men.
