The 16-year-old was the first female home in the opening stage of the Tour de Riverina. Competing on her home turf, Rees defeated more experienced riders to take out the honour in the Narrandera Road Cycle Classic. Making her achievement all the more remarkable, the 70km course is double the length of her regular junior races.
