Shaun Steven Zanker, 25, was arrested on Monday morning when homicide squad detectives swooped on a Young home.
A search warrant was executed at the property before he was taken to Young Police Station and formally charged.
He fronted Cootamundra Local Court on Monday afternoon, facing a charge of murder and cultivating a commercial quantity of cannabis.
Bail was not applied for and was formally refused. His matter was adjourned to Friday at Penrith Local Court.
Zanker is the third man charged over Mr Munro's murder, who was reported missing from Schofields on July 21, 2014.
