Only four minutes into the game, and having his first touch of the ball, Little skirted around his lacklustre opposition to cross for the Diesels' first try.
Speaking to The Daily Advertiser after the West Wyalong Knockout win, Little could barely contain his excitement as he hailed the efforts of his new comrades.
"I think this is the first win in a long-time for the boys. It's a great start," he said.
"We went in confident and we got the result."
Little pointed to the Diesel's much-improved defence and the squad's overall fitness as playing key roles in the 22-6 victory.
He also sought to highlight the impact star fullback Daniel Foley had on handing the Diesel's the confidence-building win.
"Daniel is an absolute gun and he played really well tonight," Little said.
"Now that he has better players around him, he doesn't have to try to do it all himself.”
Little appears to be well-and-truly flourishing in his new surrounds alongside fellow Southcity convert Will Merritt.
"Will and I are really enjoying ourselves here. We have settled in well," he said.
"I'm feeling really excited. I've been at Southcity for a long-time and I really needed a change. Southcity train really hard in the preseason and I think, more than anything, I needed a rest.
"Things are very laid-back here.”
Meanwhile, fellow Group Nine club Gundagai were outplayed by Forbes.
The Tigers trailed 12-nil at half-time, but made a belated comeback to get to 12-all before a last gasp Forbes try sunk Gundagai’s hopes of knockout glory.
Kangaroos sprang an upset, toppling Orange CYMS 12-10 to line-up a showdown with Temora.
