BROWNLOW Medallist Shane Crawford is the latest big name to get on board the Riverina AFL Team of the Century gala function.
The Hawthorn champion confirmed on Tuesday he will attend the Riverina Australian football's night of nights at Murrumbidgee Turf Club on Friday March 20.
Crawford joins the likes of Paul Kelly, John Longmire, Kevin Sheedy and Dennis Carroll who will be special guests on the night when the Riverina AFL Team of the Century will be named.
Southern NSW AFL regional manager Jason McPherson is rapt that Crawford has made himself available for the event.
"It's exciting and probably shows how much respect these past players have got for the event," McPherson said.
"He's a Hawks legend and I'm sure there will be plenty of their supporters there on the night.
"Crawf will make sure it's a fun night with his character you see on The Footy Show.
"We're very lucky to secure him."
A capacity crowd of 250 will be allowed on the night and just eight tables, or 80 tickets, remain available for the gala event.
The selectors will meet later this month in Canberra to begin picking the team, coach and umpire.
McPherson is happy with how preparations are coming along for the night.
"We've got a fair line up now," he said.
"A couple of Brownlow Medallists, a current Swans coach, so it should be good."
Crawford played 305 games for Hawthorn and was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame in 2012.
Tickets are available for $120 a head from the AFL NSW-ACT Office in Wagga with proceeds going to charity.
A Hawthorn and Sydney package will be auctioned on the night.
