There are several questions that needed to be answered following revelations a former CEO had been sacked over fraud allegations.
In fact, not only would the corporation not comment, it refused to take calls from this newspaper despite several earlier promises to do so.
Now at least part of this organisation is funded by the taxpayer, so somebody should be held accountable.
Late last year we contacted several aboriginal community leaders about rumblings of discontent within Rivmed, but hurdles were encountered at every turn.
The situation is a debacle and is simply not good enough.
Ultimately there may be a police investigation into these allegations.
A subsequent court hearing should also help divulge the true extent of this fraud.
An independent report has already stated Rivmed failed to maintain an effective control of staff payments and use of corporate credit cards.
This organisation should be both transparent and accountable and sweeping controversy under the carpet achieves little.
Some leadership and character must be shown here.
Rivmed would have been far better off getting on the front foot and coming clean with the Wagga community.
Honest answers to pertinent questions from journalists were needed.
Failing to respond to legitimate inquiries is certainly not the way to go.
