The meeting was postponed until yesterday, following the sacking of former CEO Selena Lyons over fraud allegations.
RivMed acting CEO Rodger Williams told The Daily Advertiser he would be available for comment on Sunday as the meeting was closed to the public.
But Mr Williams failed to return several calls yesterday.
It's understood a new board was being elected at the meeting, following Ms Lyons being stood down in May and her employment terminated in October last year.
RivMed approached the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AHMRC), as the peak organisation for all Indigenous health organisations, in October with its concerns.
Ms Lyons had already been stood down by her own board at the time.
Mr Williams assumed the position of RivMed acting CEO, in addition to his role as chief operations officer of AHMRC.
He said last week they were in the process of recruiting a permanent CEO.
An independent audit report on the 2013/14 figures stated RivMed failed to maintain an effective internal control system of payments to staff, and corporate credit cards may have been used for private expenses.
It is understood alleged misappropriation is being investigated relating to more than one staff member.
Ms Lyons was appointed CEO of RivMed in March 2010.
It is understood she has claimed unfair dismissal.
The AHMRC 2013/14 annual report indicates Ms Lyons had been on the board of directors since October 2011.
Ms Lyons has worked in management roles in Aboriginal community-controlled organisations and government agencies for 25 years, including with Department of Health and Ageing as manager Indigenous Health ACT Office, Winnunga Nimmityjah Aboriginal Health Service in Canberra as operations manager and Centrelink as manager Indigenous Services Area South West.
She has also been a director on the board of the Murrumbidgee Medicare Local.
The AHMRC is governed by a board of directors who are Aboriginal people elected by members on a regional basis, representing, supporting and advocating Aboriginal health at state and national levels.
