The top end of Baylis Street was blocked off in the early hours of Saturday morning in the first brutal assault, while a woman brandished a knife and threatened police in a second incident yesterday.
Forensic police examined the footpath from JD's Kebabs store to the railway station after a man was taken to hospital with serious injuries Saturday.
A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged with malicious wounding causing grievous bodily harm to 28-year-old man, who was allegedly stabbed in the throat and face with a broken bottle.
The 28-year-old Good Samaritan, had attempted to break up an argument between the alleged offender and a woman on Baylis Street.
The first man allegedly became aggravated and found a broken bottle and attacked the man, causing face and throat injuries.
Police say the man, armed with the bottle, ran towards the Station Place taxi rank and was detained by witnesses.
No one else was hurt.
The injured man, who was not known to his alleged attacker, was taken to Wagga Base Hospital with possible life-threatening injuries.
He immediately had surgery and his condition was downgraded.
He remains in hospital.
The 37-year-old man, who police allege was intoxicated, was taken to Wagga Police Station.
Bail was refused at Wagga Bail Court yesterday and he will front Wagga Local Court today.
The other incident involved a woman threatening neighbours with a knife and threatening to kill police and their families.
Wagga duty officer Paul Huggett said the woman was consuming alcohol at a block of flats on Berala Street early this morning.
"At some stage, she became involved in an altercation with a resident, produced a knife, chased him around the flat," he said.
"Residents took refuge in their flats, dialled triple-0, police attended and secured the knife."
One police officer was headbutted during the incident.
The 44-year-old was taken to Wagga Police Station, charged with assault, resisting arrest, intimidating police and custody of offensive implement.
