A greenhouse of sorts, with plastic bottles forming the walls, is currently under construction in the school's garden and the intention is to start growing seedlings in it once it's complete.

Special education teacher Toni Watts said the greenhouse, once finished, would be used to teach kids about a whole range of important life lessons.

"We had the garden and I just thought it was nice for our children to do some recycling, collecting the bottles and do something for the school," she said.

"We'll put seedlings in there and the kids will be able to grow seedlings and then grow their own vegetables to cook.

"We thought maybe food could be sold to staff and the community as well."

The school still needs "a few hundred" plastic bottles to complete the project and Ms Watts is hopeful the greenhouse will be completed by the end of term two.
