There are currently 19 demountable classrooms installed in the electorate's schools, with four of them having been erected 19 years ago - in the early years of the Carr Labor government.
Labor will dedicate $100 million statewide to replace the demountable classrooms with permanent air-conditioned facilities.
"We must provide the best possible learning environment, including modern and permanent classrooms, to ensure our kids get the best education and start in life," Mr Hayes said.
"But today around 100,000 students will be going back to school in demountable classrooms - a legacy of the Liberals' failure to invest in our schools over the last four years."
Statewide, there are around 4500 demountable classrooms still in use.
Member for Wagga Daryl Maguire, however, questioned if Labor had found enough money to follow through with its promise.
"(Mr Hayes) has got to tell us how he's going to pay for it," Mr Maguire said.
"We're still cleaning up Labor's deficit and debt from 16 years of maladministration."
Mr Maguire said the government had committed an extra billion dollars to build new classrooms across the state. He said 690 had already been built since the Coalition came to power, with a further 1150 on the way should it win re-election.
