GAINING confidence after scoring its second win of the season, St Michaels face a much bigger test in the two-day match against Kooringal Colts.
Kooringal Colts are one of the teams Saints have been able to get the better of, but captain James Elliott is expecting a different opponent at Forest Hill tomorrow.
Last time the two teams met in November, Kooringal only posted 61 batting first.
However, Elliott expects a lot more runs to be scored on Saturday.
St Michaels posted 122 last week and Elliott is looking for an improved batting effort against the Colts.
"(The win) was definitely the way we wanted to start and a bit of a confidence builder," Elliott said.
"But they are on the top of the table and will have to play our best cricket to match it with them."
"It wasn't a great batting wicket last week and we were probably short of what we needed, but we bowled really well.
"We do need to put a few more runs on against Colts as they have a pretty good line-up."
St Michaels will also be boosted by the return of Ryan Forsyth.
Forsyth is a former Wagga representative player, and has linked with the Saints for the remainder of the season.
"He will be a big plus for us," Elliott said.
"I'd say he'd bat four or five and bowl a few overs as well which will be very handy."
With Robertson Oval closed for Sheffield Shield preparations and the Wagga Cricket Ground unavailable next week, the match will be played at Forest Hill.
Elliott isn't sure what to expect from the ground.
"I haven't played out there for years, but I think it's a smallish ground," Elliott said.
"The cycling is at the Cricket Ground so we had to change venue and I don't know a lot abut Forest Hill and probably haven't played there since juniors."
