WAGGA RSL remain in a finals positions, but face another big test taking on Wagga City at Geoff Lawson Oval on Friday.
The Bulldogs are still two points clear of Lake Albert, but haven't won since November.
Taking on Wagga City captain Sam Perry is under no illusions the club needs to turn its form around.
"We've hit the wall sort of," Perry said.
"We've had a couple of disruptions around the club which hasn't helped at all and we've lost five senior players from the last couple of years.
"If that happened to any club they would struggle as well, but we are trying hard to get back to where we were at the start of the season."
Experienced players Dan and Luke Oakley, John Hoey and Will Silver have all left the club, but Perry believes things are slowly turning around.
"That's four pretty good cricketers and it's hard to get them back," Perry said.
"We lost the two Oakleys just before Christmas it was hard to get everyone back up for the match two weeks ago
"I think we are going in the right direction, but it's going to take a while with juniors coming through."
The Bulldogs also face a big challenge tomorrow, coming up the second-placed Cats.
The two teams haven't met this season after their round three match was washed off.
Perry is looking forward to another match up.
"It's a huge challenge, but it's quite exciting for me," Perry said.
"We always had challenges against them and over the last couple of years we've played two grand finals against them and every time we play them each team goes up to another level."
Wagga RSL started off their season well, undefeated through the first four rounds, but haven't won since.
Perry believes having the wash-off really stopped the club's momentum.
"We'd won two from two and that's probably where the season stopped for us," Perry said.
"We won the next week against South Wagga, but the momentum stopped with the rain and we haven't been able to pick up."
The Bulldogs have made a couple of changes with Sam Lempard and Lucky Wijesiriya dropping down to second grade with Joe Kenny and Suraj Kandasamy coming in.
The Cats welcome back Dean Crane.
