Frith impressed those trackside at Junee on Sunday night, working between races.

With a galloping pacemaker alongside Frith, she clocked a 1:55.3 for the mile, well under the track record.

"She exceeded my expectations going that, but in saying that she did it easy and I honestly think she could have broken 54," Harpley said.

"Times are getting out of hand, but that's quick."

Frith is drawn to come out of barrier seven if the emergencies both fail to get a run on Saturday.

With the draw preferential on metropolitan assessment Harpley was always expecting to draw wide.

He doubts whether he can cross to the front, but still expects a big performance after missing the placings at Bathurst.

"She ate up good and her heart rate came down good, so I think that really tops her off this week," Harpley said.

"She's all ready to go."

With most of her racing over the middle distance trips, Harpley has prepared the five-year-old with the Menangle mile features in mind.

The Ranji Bill is the second automatic qualification race for the $200,000 Ladyship Mile.

LEETON trainer Col Thomas has downplayed media reports he will set Business In Motion for the $200,000 Chariots Of Fire on Inter Dominion day.

Coming into the Junee Pacers Cup, Thomas emphasised that the lucrative race for four-year-olds was on his agenda, but after finishing ninth in the $14,000 feature isn't quite as bullish.

While not dismissing plans yet, Thomas will line up Business In Motion in the $10000 Leeton Pacers Cup (2147m) tomorrow.

"I'll just see how he goes, the horse is going alright he just didn't have any luck (at Junee) the other night," Thomas said.

"Then he got locked up, locked wheels and was bolting at the finish."

After being unable to drive the entire at Junee, regular reinsman Stephen Maguire is back aboard for the Leeton race.

Business In Motion had drawn barrier five in the race for C3-C6 pacers, and despite breaking his four-race winning streak Thomas is more than happy with his charge.

"I'm real happy with him and think he's going better than he has ever gone," Thomas said.

Despite downplaying any Chariots Of Fire plans, Thomas still has his sights on Menangle's riches.

He is looking to go to Menangle next Saturday for a C3-C5 race with Business In Motion, as well as MIA Breeders Plate winner Bettermatch for the $40,000 NSW Sapling Stakes.

Son-in-law Maguire also plans to take Junee track record holder The Baggy Green to Menangle for a mares race.

EUROLEY trainer David Kennedy has set his smart three-year-old Sporty Spook quite the task this weekend.

After winning last week at Junee, Kennedy was accepted in both the South West and Riverina Derby at Leeton tomorrow, and the Victoria Derby heats at Melton on Saturday night.

Drawing the pole in Leeton, Sporty Spook is one of six last starts winners in the second of the derby heats.

TWO nice three-year-olds are on the move with Riley James and Sports Chaton both sold in recent weeks.

Athol White's three-year-old has won three of his 12 starts with a further six placings and is moving to Joe Costa's in Swan Hill.

Costa is already enjoying success with another former Riverina two-year-old with Madis Mate winning four of his last five starts and will line up in a Victoria Derby heat on Saturday.

The beaten MIA Breeders Plate favourite from last year, Sports Chaton has been sold to connections of KerryAnn Turner's stable.

HEREUX Homme returned to Menangle last week and started with immediate success.

After two starts at Leeton for Phil Maguire, the six-year-old returned to the care of KerryAnn Turner.

In a blanket finish Hereux Homme was able to win by a head.

The Riverina-owned Jokers Tothe Right finished a further half-head away in third.

The win was the start of a good run for owner Reece Maguire, who also enjoyed success at the Murrumbidgee Turf Club's meeting on Monday.

Ridden by Maguire's girlfriend Kristen Smart, Mrs Mawson was able to win first up on Australia Day.

IT'S been more than three years and a serious injury break, but Jack Hall was back in the winners' list at Wagga on Tuesday night.

The half-brother to Frith brought up his 16th win for 87 starts to go with 26 minor placings.

He'd been knocking on the door with three placings, but was able to go one better.

Trainer-driver Shane Hallcroft said the eight-year-old spent 14 months in the paddock after injuring his digital flexor tendon.

"He's been racing good without a great deal and luck," Hallcroft said.

"He got a good run through and it was a big drop in grade and I would have been a bit disappointed if he had been beaten."

Hallcroft also enjoyed success with Lequipe Linden winning the last race on the program.

Yarrawonga trainer Shane Gilligan took out training honours on the night, collecting three winners.

Combining with son Thomas, the pair scored with Barney Fella, Mary Mon and Antaeus Blue Chip.

FOR the second week running the Wagga jackpot has gone off.

Each week one horse is drawn and if it wins claims the jackpot prize which increases each week by $100 until it reaches $1000 or is claimed.

After Dilingers Princess claimed $1000 for her connections, Essmumford backed up to win as the jackpot horse handing owner Phil Bryce.

The six-year-old mare was trainer Bryce's first winner back since he returned to the industry after several years away from the sport.

He has been indisposed in recent months due to a race fall, with his son Cameron doing all the major work with their team of horses.

HELLS A Coming's five-race winning streak was ended by Dentona at Shepparton on Saturday night.

After moving off the pegs early, Hells A Coming couldn't run down the leader and finished second 1.2 metres away.

The Peter Birks-trained mare still has an impressive record his season with five wins and three placings from her eight starts.

WITH two Menangle Country Series finals on Saturday night there is a large contingent of Riverina pacers racing at Menangle on Saturday night.

Frith headlines the Riverina pacers but Stan Hedlund has Harrys Flight and Shane Hallcroft has Keys Tothe Village in the C0 final.

Judith Rutland's Tit For Tatt is the first emergency.

Kim Hillier has Mean Courage in the C2 final while Billy Branach is the second emergency.

The Leeton-owned Dealer, and Wagga-owned Stirling William will also be racing.

THE $10,000 Leeton Pacers Cup is the feature of Leeton's eight-race card tomorrow.

The cup has attracted a strong field including Business In Motion, Modern Max and Major Jules who all ran in the Junee Pacers Cup on Sunday.

Smo is the only visitor for the race for Kialla trainer Laura Crossland.

The cup is race four on the program and will run at 8.10pm.

The $10,000 South West and Riverina Derby is the secondary feature on the card.

Three last-start winners will battle it out including Sporty Spook, Pompidou and Casino Grin.

Sporty Spook has drawn barrier one in the race which will run at 9.10pm.

WITH Wagga and Young's Carnival of Cups meeting approaching soon, it has been announced that Luke Dickens will be performing on both nights.

The Young performer finished runner-up in the 2008 edition of Australia Idol and will perform at Wagga on March 7 and Young on March 14.

HARNESS racing will return to Wagga next Tuesday night.

Nominations for the meeting close at 9.30am this morning.

Wagga races three of the next four Tuesdays, with Albury hosting a meeting on February 17.

Tuesday night racing culminates with the Wagga hosting four heats of the World Drivers Championship on February 24.

Each race are penalty-free $8000 events, with a representative of each nation to drive.
