Council has revealed the development application for the extensive upgrade, which will house the Police Citizens Youth Club (PCYC).
Wagga City Council (WWCC) and key stakeholders, including the PCYC, resolved to endorse one of three options in November, 2013.
The favoured single-storey option covers 1725 square metres, designed as part of council’s Multi-Purpose Stadium (MPS) Project.
The MPS project includes the construction if a new three-court indoor stadium facility at the Exhibition Centre and the refurbishment of the existing indoor stadium at Bolton Park to facilitate the relocation of the PCYC to the facility.
It was reported at the time WWCC entered into an agreement at the same meeting with the PCYC for the development and operation of its facilities at the stadium.
But future tenancy arrangements of Bolton Park Stadium were listed as a confidential matter at last night’s general council meeting.
The development application online detailing the upgrade includes alterations and additions to the indoor recreational facility at Bolton Park Stadium, including additional recreation floor space and the addition of the PCYC community facility.
The notification stage will end on February 10 and is estimated to cost $3.87 million.

“The Bolton Park MPS project which is currently subject to development approval is a partnership project with PCYC that will see the Bolton Park Stadium developed into a high quality community hub with business event capacity,” a WWCC spokesman said.
“Once the expansion and upgrade has been completed PCYC will relocate from their existing Gurwood Street premise to the Bolton Park site.
“It is anticipated that construction will start mid 2015 with an estimated nine to 12-month construction period.”
