As part of the Home Ground Cricket Tour, which is touring NSW to promote the International Cricket Council (ICC) Cricket World Cup 2015, Bracken visited the city to conduct free coaching clinics at the long weekend.
Former Australian fast bowler and two-time ICC Cricket World Cup winner Bracken said the event was a fantastic opportunity to get the local community excited for next year’s tournament.
“It’s a fantastic initiative by Destination NSW to have the Home Ground Cricket Tour come to Wagga and ignite the passion for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand in early 2015,” he declared.
“It’s also a great way to bring all aspects of cricket together with all the activities in one space.
“You have both kids and adults playing in the inflatable nets and learning skills from Cricket NSW, along with a walk through museum which showcases a lot of cricket history.”
A highlight of the Home Ground Cricket Tour was the twilight T20 clash played between the All Starts and Young Guns at Bolton Park.
