About 10.30am, the motorcycle and a Nissan Patrol ute were travelling in opposite directions on Muttama Road when they collided.
The male motorcycle rider and his female pillion passenger both died instantly at the scene.
All that remained of the motorcycle was a charred husk after the accident.
The ute caught fire but was quickly extinguished by firefighters from Fire and Rescue NSW.
The driver of the ute escaped the accident uninjured but was taken to Gundagai Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Muttama Road was closed between Coolac and Muttama for several hours as a result of the crash.
Forensic investigators arrived at the scene at about 1pm and spent most of the afternoon piecing together the events that led to the crash.
The accident occurred on a winding stretch of the Muttama Road, which was the scene of another fatal accident in October last year.
In that accident, a 72-year-old Orange man was killed in a head-on collision that injured two other people.
He was towing a tractor implement when his Toyota LandCruiser collided with a blue Holden Rodeo.
The driver of the Rodeo sustained multiple fractures and facial injuries in that accident.
Police have yet to release the names of the two people killed in Sunday's accident.
The crash occurred in fine and clear conditions and police investigations are still ongoing.
