WAGGA tennis ace Kaitlin Staines headlines the list of players at the growing Australia Day Open this long weekend.
In its second year, the men's Australian Money Tournament event has nearly doubled while there was been added interest in the women's event.
Jim Elphick centre manager Nathan McNeill is thrilled with the support for the event.
"It's only a new tournament, but it's being getting good support," McNeill said.
"The men's event has gone from 20 to 38 which is just great and even to have four more in the women's is a good increase."
The Australia Day Open is Wagga's second biggest tennis tournament, behind the Riverina Open.
Three thousand dollars is up for grabs on Monday when the finals are played.
2013 Riverina Open champion Jade Culph is the top seed in the men's event.
The Albury tennis player didn't return to defend his crown last year, but adds some quality to the event.
Wagga's Sebastian Wrobel in the second seed.
Young gun Kaitlin Staines in the top seed in the women's draw with Victorian Hope Curtis-McDonald.
Canberra sisters Jacinta and Stephanie Pang round out the top four seeds in the women's draw, ranked three and four respectively.
Curtis-McDonald will play in Wagga for the first time and her brother James in the third seed in the men's draw.
There was also been strong interest in the other competitions through the tournament and McNeill is anticipating a big weekend.
