Thankfully, the Wesley Uniting Church has done exactly that and preparations are well under way for its free Christmas luncheon.
The luncheon is run in conjunction with Riverina Bluebell and is designed to give people an outlet to come together.
Lunches are being plated up all throughout the Riverina.
Wesley Uniting Church volunteer organiser Phil Sheather said more than 80 bookings have already been made.
Mr Sheather said about 20 volunteers are expected to help out throughout the day, with a traditional Christmas lunch planned.
"There are people who are on their own this Christmas," Mr Sheather said.
"We put it on for people to come in and have a lunch together. It's a chance for everybody to enjoy pleasant company."
