THE Brett Cavanough-trained Steakandbearnaise is considered Southern District's best hope in next year's $300,000 Country Championship Final.
Sportsbet this week released a market for the Country Championships where the Greg Bennett-trained In A Wink heads the market at $4.50.
Steakandbearnaise is a $10 chance in the market, closely followed by Wagga pair Yet Tobe Convinced and Grand Allowance at $15.
The Dave Heywood-trained Calke Abbey is the only other SDRA horse quoted at $26.
"This should be a fantastic series. Punters will get to see the best of the country and provincial gallopers, racing on the same days as some of the best thoroughbreds in the world,'' sportsbet.com.au's Shaun Anderson said.
Sportsbet are happy to quote others on request.
The $100,000 heat for Southern District horses will be run at Wagga on March 15 over 1400 metres.
In A Wink has won three of his seven races and is a last-start winner at Warwick Farm.
Steakandbearnaise is a winner of three of his eight starts and ran third at his last start at Randwick before he went to the paddock.
