The Willans Hill Miniature Railway is run by the Wagga Society of Model Engineers.
Twice a month, several miniature locomotives chug around a two-kilometre stretch of track which loops around the gardens, across a bridge and through a tunnel.
Assistant secretary Helmut Kater said the final run for 2014, scheduled for Sunday, December 21, had been cancelled.
Mr Kater said the club's locomotive drivers and members were "disappointed".
"They have accepted the decision the committee has made," he said.
"It was due to internal issues and out of our control," Mr Kater said.
It's believed a problem with the organisation's insurance had brought a halt to the event.
However, Mr Kater said the issue had been resolved and it would see the miniature railway running again on Sunday, January 4.
