"He will always be remembered as a very kind, young man who always helped people," his mother, Glenda, said.
"He loved his job at Rex and loved his music as a well-respected DJ in Wagga.
"He loved his life."
Daniel was born in Narrandera and attended St Francis De Sales Regional College in Leeton.
He was the son of Glenda and Ken and brother to Chris.
Daniel was three weeks off finishing his four-year aircraft engineering apprenticeship with Rex, with plans to move to Adelaide for work.
Ms Ridgwell said her son was the one of the youngest people to obtain their recreation pilot licence in NSW at the age of 15.
"He was fascinated by aviation," she said.
"He made (aero model planes) dance in the sky.
"He was a very busy boy.
"He just loved life."
Daniel was 24 years old when he died after his apartment on Dunn Avenue caught alight in the early hours of November 27 last year.
Crime Manager Detective Inspector Darren Cloake said no inquest was required under sections 25 and 31 of the Coroner's Act.
A coroner's ruling earlier this year believed the fire started from a general purpose power outlet in the dining room caused by a polymer lithium battery igniting during power charging, causing him to die from carbon monoxide toxicity and smoke inhalation.
Ms Ridgwell extended her gratitude to the lead detective Domanic Burton and his team for how they handled the case.
"I do appreciate heartfelt gratitude to the way they handled everything for the dignity and respect they showed with the death of my son," she said.
