GANMAIN-Grong Grong-Matong has secured the services of former Lockhart coach Jake Wooden.
The Lions have added further strength to their midfield with the return of former captain Nathan McPherson, and now the recruitment of Wooden.
Both played at Hume League club Lockhart this season.
Wooden has coached his home club Lockhart for the past two seasons but was replaced by Shane Lenon at season's end.
GGGM coach Jayden Kotzur was thrilled to get both players on board.
"Jake has a lot of pace and will be good for us through the midfield and up forward," Kotzur said.
"He will add another dimension to our side.
"They're both leaders as well, they've both coached before and will add that experience to the side, as well as being versatile players.
"Poke (McPherson) brings that hardness.
"It's a good start for us."
The recruitment of McPherson and Wooden is well-timed given the retirement of experienced midfielder Daniel Rankin and the decision of Matt Clarke to return to Hume League club Osborne.
Kotzur yesterday revealed Clarke has decided to return and finish his career at Osborne after the one season at GGGM.
GGGM is unsure whether Luke Kohlhagen will go around again.
The Lions have been able to hang on to speedster Curtis Steele, despite attention from several Riverina clubs, and Mitch Steele.
"We've been going pretty well with retaining our list," Kotzur said.
"We hope to have some more news next week."
GGGM is keen to add some height to its list after struggling to match the heights of opposition teams last season.
The Lions will begin pre-season training in January.
