The two beneficiaries of the steer auction, put on by the Wagga RSL Club, were the Willans Hill School and Relay for Life.
The steers, a Murray Grey named Sissy and a Poll Hereford named Elsa, raised around $13,500 each.
For a number of years, the Wagga RSL has purchased a steer to be auctioned off to raise money for the Willans Hill School, with students given the chance to name the steers.
They were bred by Nicole Rodd, the principal of the Wagga Murray Grey stud.
International Gaming Technology and Aristocrat Gaming bought the steers for $12,500 each before both donating them back so they could be auctioned back for sale value, of about $1000 each, at the Saleyards.
