IN A sport where precision is key, husband and wife team John and Sharon Potter have been right on point.
With decades of dressage experience the pair are riding a purple patch of form.
They've had two of their horses rewarded with gold medals for outstanding performances throughout the year.
Silbermond and Bradgate Park Delilah were both given the national honours on Saturday night.
In a big weekend for the Potters, Silbermond gained more national recognition becoming the Australian medium champion at the national titles on Sunday.
Silbermond, the reigning NSW elementary champion, has come a long way in a short time.
The eight-year-old Rheinlander was imported from Germany five years ago and has been developing under the tuition of John.
Just 12 months ago he was competing in novice divisions in Wagga, but has continued to impress judges from across the country.
With both horses performing so well, the Potters are in uncharted territory.
"There was been lots of success this year which has been really good," John said.
"I've been doing this for over 30 years and we've had a previous horse that was the Australian champion, but to have two in one year is something special."
John thought he would have been joined by his wife as national champion, if it wasn't for an unfortunate accident.
Sharon injured her ribs drafting cattle and wasn't able to compete with Bradgate Park Delilah over the weekend.
Bradgate Park Delilah is the novice state champion but they had to withdraw from the competition.
The Potters have a mix of imported and Australian-bred horses and their recent success has made all the travel worthwhile.
They travel to Sydney at least once a month to compete and normally have four or five in work, with younger horses also coming through.
The Riverina Equestrian Association will host the Riverina Dressage Festival this weekend, but the Potters won't be competing.
Silbermond won the novice division last year and Sharon was set to compete before her injury.
Instead both will help run the two-day event.
