OVERCOMING quick conditions at the Wagga RSL Club, David Inglis and Chris Cooney were the only team to play out the Coca Cola men's three bowls pairs undefeated.
Wagga RSL bowler Inglis and Ganmain bowler Cooney, took the lion's share of the $2200 on offer, going home with $800.
With six wins over the weekend, the pair finished well in front of their rivals.
A shot difference of 128 was miles ahead of anyone else, and despite a comfortable win the battle for the minor places was much tighter.
Four teams finished with five wins each and had to be separated by shot difference.
Francis Ryan combined with David Ferguson, who was a substitute for John Hetherington, finished second with a superior shot difference.
They finished 66 shots in the positive to hold off Wagga RSL pair Brian Lawrence and Jack Cousley.
Lawrence and Cousley finished with a shot difference of 45, two ahead of Matt and Graeme McComber.
With 24 teams each playing six games over the two days, there was plenty of action of the greens.
Despite the busy nature of the weekend, Wagga RSL Club publicity officer Lawrence was thrilled with how the weekend was played out.
"It was a pretty good tournament and it went off well," he said.
"There were some very good games."
"The greens were in excellent condition, very quick, and it was hot which made it pretty hard work for the two days."
The event was part of a big month of bowls for the club.
The second leg of the Springtime Festival of Bowls after a highly successful Classic Fours tournament played over the long weekend.
The festival concludes with the $2000 Clarrie and Barbara Inglis mixed three this weekend.
Lawrence is anticipating another strong roll up for the event.
