Gundagai Highway Patrol officers detected a black Audi RS6 wagon heading south on the highway allegedly travelling at 216km/h in a 110km/h zone near Mundarlo at about 1pm on Saturday.
Police stopped the wagon and spoke to the driver, a 29-year-old UK man, and suspended his licence on the spot.
He will face Gundagai Local Court on December 1, charged with exceeding the speed limit by more than 45km/h.
The man was driving to Melbourne as part of an organised rally event, police alleged.
Less than two weeks ago, on October 13, another man from the UK, aged 33, was caught driving at 215km/h on the Hume Highway at Tumblong - only a short distance east of where police caught the driver of the Audi RS6.
That incident prompted the commander of Traffic and Highway Patrol, Assistant Commissioner John Hartley, to issue a warning to drivers - one which appears to have fallen on deaf ears.
"Speed kills, and drivers exceeding the speed limit risk losing control in an emergency braking situation, putting themselves, passengers and other road users at grave risk," Assistant Commissioner Hartley said earlier this month.
"If speeding, your chances of having a crash increase, while the risk of being seriously injured or killed in a crash also rises."
"Traffic and Highway Patrol officers will continue to patrol for drivers taking risks and being reckless on the roads."
The 33-year-old is due to appear in Gundagai Local Court over that matter on the same day the driver of the Audi RS6 has his case heard.
