Playing a vital role in educating children before they reach school, 15 educators were recognised for their contribution from 12 months to 25 years.
The service's patron, Mary Kidson, said educators were uniquely placed in their role in a child's education and care, but also their own small business.
Mrs Kidson said when Wagga Regional Family Day Care began 39 years ago, it's focus was childcare, which has since been expanded.
Wagga educator Denise Pallett said the job was worth while, set the stage for a child's later development and more than just "care".
Like many educators, Mrs Pallett also cared for her own children through the service and was presented with an award for 25 years of service.
She said receiving the recognition for her service was "wonderful".
"It's a great privilege to be able to be become part of their (children's) lives," she said.
One of Mrs Pallett's daughters has become an educator with Family Day Care.
"It's inspiring that she felt my job was important enough to follow in my footsteps," she said.
