A FORMER employee of the Ashmont Inn charged with stealing $860 from the pub is being investigated over another $300,000, Wagga Local Court has been told.
Debra Price, 51, of Ashmont was in court on Wednesday when her case was mentioned for the third time since she was arrested earlier this year.
Her solicitor, Zac Tankard, told magistrate that at the first court mention on July 9 it was advised a further investigation was happening.
He said the investigation was also raised when the matter returned to court on August 20, but he had heard nothing more until he contacted police recently and was told investigations were continuing.
Police prosecutor, Sergeant Priscilla Jones, told magistrate Megan Greenwood she had been told by the investigating officer that 7000 documents had been received from the hotel owner and the sum being investigated was $300,000.
"It's a very complicated matter," Sergeant Jones said.
Price has not entered pleas to three counts of stealing property as a clerk or servant.
It is alleged she stole three sums of money - $300, $240 and $320 - between May 19 and May 25.
Ms Greenwood granted Sergeant Jones's application for a six-week adjournment until December 3.
