MORE than 100 people filed into the doors of a Wagga club to meet international valuer Gordon Brown at one of the many Riverina events that drew thousands to the region at the weekend.

Mr Brown from ABC's The Collectors viewed about 450 items at the Commercial Club on Saturday as local history buffs had their items identified, described and valued, before he presented at a formal dinner that night.
Items included an egg designed by the Queen's silversmith, Stuart Devlin, a Tasmanian Huon Pine writing slope and assorted china and ivory pieces.
Meanwhile, a similar spectacle at the East Wagga Hawks Football Club with the Wagga and District Scale Model Club celebrating their 30th anniversary, showcasing planes, cars, trucks, science fiction and even dinosaurs.
Moving south, The Rocks's 68th show at the weekend featured harness classes in the showjumping competition for the first time, alongside other ring events, the championship dog show and the crowning of miss junior showgirl and master showboy.
Cootamundra also celebrated its three-day 124th annual show from Friday that included performances by FMX Kaos international freestyle motocross team.
The showground played host to yard dog trials, horse ring events, shearing competition and beef, wool and sheep judging, while the pavillion was packed with art, craft, cooking and produce.
At a comparably younger event, Ariah Park celebrated its 10th annual Mary Gilmore Festival that culminated in the Country Music Festival on Saturday, while the Batlow Apple Blossum Festival included local school performances, horsemanship displays and a photogrpahy competition to mark its 11th anniversary.
There was a slightly different taste in West Wyalong with a Mexico in the West float parade on Saturday, while the Bardmedman Modified Tractor Pull kick started the 2014-15 tractor pulling season.
Meanwhile, the annual Invitational Scale Classic Down Under aircraft event made its way from Temora to Cootamundra for the first time.
