The formation of a Wagga "mob" will be part of the RSL Youth Choir, an educational initiative that will see members involved in the centenary of Anzac Day commemorations.
"When the kids get dressed up in period costume and sing the songs, it adds a new depth and enhances the whole meaning of commemoration," Wagga RSL Sub-branch president Kevin Kerr said.
"I would encourage the young people of Wagga and their families to get involved in the choir and look forward to hearing them sing in the near future."
Recently retired secondary school music and history teacher Marg Davies, who has more than 30 years' experience, said she was excited about leading the "mob" project.
"What a wonderful opportunity for community participation to honour the traditions and heritage of Australia in song," Ms Davies said.
The information day will be held at the Wagga RSL Club, with students able to dress in period costume. There will also be an interactive history display, music games and choir practice.
The new choir will be thrust into public performance, including an original song by RSL Youth Choir creative director OJ Rushton, at the Wagga premiere of William Kelly's War at Forum 6 cinemas on October 30.
