The milestone event included old favourites such as the "Tornado", "Shockwave" and "Gravi-tron" and a host of new attractions to keep all attendees entertained.

Events co-ordinator Alan Lean said there were a number of new standout exhibits at this years's show.

"The pen of three grass-fed finished steer or heifers competition is a new concept," he said.

"It's the first time in Australia at a show.

"It's as much an education as it is a competition for the farmers."

Mr Lean also pointed out the clydesdale and bullock team and the show memorabilia in the Kyeamba Smith Hall as features of this year's event.

Luke Sydenham and his nephew, Gus, were two of the eager showgoers.

"The showbags drew him (Gus) here," he said.

The pair was captivated by the stunt riders, Flairriders, yesterday.

"We came back to see this," he said.

"Every kid deserves to come to the show."

Wagga Show Society president Brett Grant said the highlight of the day for him was meeting and escorting the Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove around.

Mr Grant said the day had been successful in gate takings.

"We have a good crowd here tonight," he said.
