Under glorious September sunshine, at least 500 people joined four-year-old Isabella - who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma (known as RMS) in late May - for a family fun day at Coolamon's Royal Tavern on Saturday.

RMS is a cancerous tumour that develops in soft tissues and, following the discovery of a tumour in her neck, Isabella is currently undergoing a 42-week chemotherapy treatment plan in Sydney.

Saturday's event - organised by the town's "Isabella's Angels" committee - provided a chance for some to, quite literally, let their hair down.

There were head shaves aplenty, a chocolate wheel with thousands of dollars in prizes, children's rides and even a chance to rub shoulders with stars of Channel Seven's Home and Away - Andrew Morley (Spencer) and Leeton's Jake Speer (Oscar).

One of the organisers, Dee Johnson, said the appearance of the television celebrities was "a hit" and required a police escort.

Ms Johnson said the crowd began building half an hour before the 10am start and continued to grow.

"It was just overwhelming, the support ... (the family) were just so blown away," Ms Johnson said.

"Isabella was just in awe of it, she loved the jumping castle and the face painting."

Ms Johnson said the event wasn't about making money, but allowing Isabella's family to "see how many people were thinking about them".
