While the Ardlethan Show had your typical program of events - pavilion displays, sideshow alley and team penning - it was the inaugural Trophy Karts that had motors running.
Trophy Karts are half-scale off-road trucks that compete on a short track with plenty of "jumps and bumps".
They're big in America and are making their engines heard in Australia.
Ardlethan is just the second town in NSW to have a Trophy Kart track and the pits were open at the weekend so people could have a look.
The town's first race was held conjunction with show - part of a two-day event that saw karts travel from as far afield as Adelaide and Sydney.
The races were conducted in three classes - junior Mod, junior 250 and Senior 450.
Show secretary Elizabeth Menzies said the karts were "very well received".
Ms Menzies said overall numbers through the gate were up on previous years.
Tessa O'Hare - who grew up in Beckom, but is studying a Master of Science (Earth Sciences) at Melbourne University - was crowned this year's showgirl.
