So, the 57-year-old Queensland woman is doing just that as she cycles from Melbourne to Canberra as part of "A Ride to Remember" in her honour.
The eight-day ride raises awareness and funds for Alzheimer's research.
The ride, which left Melbourne on Sunday, is part of "Molly's Song" - a series of fund-raising events Libby started about five years ago after her mum was diagnosed with the disease.
Sadly, Molly died about five weeks ago.
"It sort of put a little dent in preparations and training, but it makes it (the ride) all the more important," Libby told The Daily Advertiser from Gundagai on Friday.
"It's a challenge I've set myself and we're nearly there now ... I keep pinching myself we're actually doing it.
"It's not about me, it's about everybody."
Libby described what her mum had to endure in the past few years as sad.
"I wouldn't have wanted her to live another second ... (she had) no quality of life, no dignity," she said.
"My loss now is more about missing what we could have had if we had some treatment for this disease."
Libby rolled into Wagga on Thursday afternoon from Urana, with a meet and greet held at the William Farrer Hotel following her arrival.
She described Friday's ride from Wagga to Gundagai - via Wantabadgery - as beautiful.
"We're meeting so many people along the way ... almost everyone I've talked to has been touched by Alzheimer's in one way or another," she said.
Libby grew up in country Victoria and, as a qualified music therapist, she always made sure music was a big part of Molly's life.
She now lives in Noosa, but began the ride in the Victorian capital to allow her family to be involved.
Her older brothers - Peter and John - and nephew Jackson rode with her on the first two days, while her dad Ken was in a support vehicle.
The ride hits the Hume Highway on Saturday for a 100km trip to Yass, before it ends outside Parliament House in Canberra about 10.30am on Monday.
