In the Greater Hume shire, both the mayor Heather Wilton and deputy mayor Doug Meyer, elected to council in 2008 and 2012 respectively, were re-elected to their positions unopposed.
Moving north, change was in the air in Young with mayor of six years Stuart Freudenstein outvoted and toppled by former mayor John Walker, six votes to three.
Deputy mayor Ben Cooper retained his position unopposed.
Murrumbidgee Shire Council and Harden Shire Council, whose mayor Chris Manchester was re-elected to the position unopposed in September 2012, were due to hold their respective meetings tonight.
