TEMORA product Luke Breust has been rewarded for an outstanding season with selection in the All Australian team.
Breust was recognised by the AFL world on Tuesday night by being named on a half-forward flank of the prestigious All Australian team.
It was the first time Breust has received such an honour and he became the first player from the region to do so since Cameron Mooney in 2007.
Breust kicked a career-high 53 goals from 22 home and away games in what is just his fourth year of senior football.
He equalled Tony Lockett's record of 29 goals in a row, without a behind.
Breust has also managed to kick a goal in every game he has played this season, while also being able to push into the midfield.
He has averaged 15.4 disposals per home and away game this year as well as 3.3 marks, 3.1 tackles and 2.4 goals.
His good mate and Hawks team mate, Matt Suckling, paid tribute to his year.
"I suppose we started coming through the ranks together and started to play seniors at a similar time so we've always been pretty close," Suckling said.
"It's been good to see him continue his form from last year to the point now where he's recognised as the best small forward in the game."
Suckling also revealed how the newfound fame had gone to Breust's head.
"Look at it this way, things have already started to change now he's an All Australian," Suckling said with a laugh.
"I sent him a text this morning to congratulate him and now all of a sudden he's an All Australian, he still hasn't written back.
"But no, he's doing really well and deserved that to come his way."
The pair also traded a few barbs after Breust's Temora beat Suckling's junior club East Wagga-Kooringal in the Farrer League grand final last Saturday.
