"Help me, Only-One Cannoli, you me only hope."

If you've noticed some slight tweaks to one of the most famous lines from the original Star Wars movie, that's because the characters from Sesame Street have their hands all over this one – and have given it a decidedly sweet flavour.

The five-minute clip, titled Star S'Mores, which has scored more than 500,000 hits on YouTube, takes the cult sci-fi family classic and themes it all around sweet treats.

Bringing together Luke Piewalker, Flan Solo (played by Cookie Monster), Chewie the Cookie (not Wookie, geddit), Darth Baker and Princess Parfaita, the skit seems to be imparting some message to young viewers about control over diet.

It starts with the famous opening credit shot, this time reading "A long time ago, in a cookie and milky way galaxy far, far away" before heading to familar spots such as the Millennium Falcon, Luke's home on Tattooine, the swamp where Yoda (in this case, played by Grover and remaned Groda) lives, and the Death Star where they rescue Princess Parfaita.

The moral appears to be exerting control, with the word repeated several times. The plot is this: Flan Solo seems to have some difficulty not eating his partner, who is of course a cookie. Only-One Cannoli tells him to "use the four", in other words count to four to pause before making a wrong decision. "Remember, the four will be with you, always."

Groda imparts the message of having a "strategy" to distract, such as singing, while Darth Baker appears, wearing a black chef's hat and bacon and egg design on his chest panel.

Luke cries out that they are fresh out of mentors, to which Darth Baker says: "Luke, I am your father".

"Interesting twist," notes Flan Solo/Cookie Monster.

Darth Baker finds a solution and Princess Parfaita is rescued. The famous hairstyle she bears here is in the shape of two oreo cookies: "And for your reward you can have my hairdo."

"Cowabunga!" says Flan Solo/Cookie Monster, a term which has nothing to do with Star Wars whatsoever, but then who cares? It's all a bit of nonsense.

At the very least, it's a sweet treat for Star Wars fans eagerly awaiting the next instalment, Star Wars: Episode VII, out December 2015.
